Karl Rosenfield Peony Roots
This is a double, fuchsia red peony known to be a very reliable bloomer in the South. We planted over 40 roots this past year on our property and the blooms were stunning. They are fairly heat tolerant and require full sun to bloom, but appreciate some afternoon shade if you live in a hot climate like we do here in Texas. Peonies require good drainage to prevent root rot but can be planted in amended clay soils. Water requirements are moderate.
Karl Rosenfield
Height: 36" tall
Originally bred: 1908
Perennial
We encourage you to plant these roots in the Fall when your ground is workable and barely cover the eyes (an inch of soil above the eye is good). If the ship date is after your ground freezes, they can be planted in large pots for the first year and planted next fall after foliage has died back. The bigger the pot, the better.
**SHIPS in Fall. ** Please note We do not ship to CA, HI, WA, ID.
